13. April 2015 | Nyborg Castle
The Nyborg Town Council, at its March 24 meeting, voted in favour of earmarking a construction grant of 35,300,000 kroner to the international project competition involving new buildings on Slotsholmen (the castle grounds), the restoration of Nyborg Castle and the town square. Its purpose is to create a new, cohesive heritage area, with strengthened connections between the castle and the town, along with new possibilities for informative exhibitions.
The combined cost of the project is 276,600,000 kr., financed by the A.P. Møller Fund, Realdania, the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Nyborg.
The invitiation announcement was made on March 23 for the first step towards an international architects’ competition. This will give us the possibility to explore the market for total consultants, who can make suggestions in regards to the extensive project. The architects’ competition will be launched on June 2, 2015.
